Earth Day 2009

Earth Day was begun in 1970, by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, among others. A day to raise awareness about the environment, to make efforts to learn about conservation, recycling, and living healthy, with less pollution, chemicals, and waste.

I have recycled most of my life, including newspapers, aluminum cans, steel cans, milk cartons, plastic bottles, and cardboard. I also try to use less energy at home and less gas in the car. The past few years, I've tried to commute to work more on the bike. However, it's not about just one day of the year to care for the Earth. It's an everyday thing for a lifetime. If we can do that, we will have clean air and water, healthier food and lifestyles for ourselves, our children, and the planet. I try to do my part. Feel free to share your ides and thoughts in the comments.
