This morning I biked to the OMU Power Run and then did the 5 km run in just about over 35 minutes. Still slow, but hopefully I'll keep improving! After the door prizes were given out and awards presented, I biked home. Now I can start the rest of my Saturday!

Bike to Work Friday

It was a tad cool this morning, but was to warm up to the mid 80's this afternoon. I'm trying to get into a regular habit of biking to work on Friday's if not other days during the week. I made it last night to a local park and to work today. Hopefully I'll be able to bike to the OMU Power fun run tomorrow morning, too.

Corp Challenge Bike Race The race was held early this morning at Panther Creek Park. There were a few OMHS riders, including myself, and a few of them got medals in their divisons. It was a good, fast route and a decent turn out. Times will be officialy posted next week, but I think I did the 10 miles in about 34 minutes, for an average mph of about 17.5.

Nice day to Commute to Work

I haven't commuted to work in a while. However, with the cooler mornings, it's a great time to ride into work. On my way home, I stopped at a local appliance store and bought a new gas range. I'm looking forward to re-making my kitchen. I also would like to top 500 miles ridden on the bike this year. I know that's a lot less than many bike riders, but it would be huge for me to make that mileage goal.

Owensboro Club Ride

I joined the Monday night club ride, again, tonight. It meets out at Waymond Morris Park on Todd Bridge Road at 5:30pm, now, because the sun is setting sooner and sooner. This weekend is the Owensboro Parks Dept. Corporate Challenge Bike race. It starts at Panther Creek Park and is 15 miles.

Weekend Ride

Saturday was a pretty nice day in Owensboro for a ride. It was a tad muggy, but the temps are colling off with a little rain this weekend. I didn't go to the Old Kentucky Home Tour because I didn't want to be riding in thunderstorms riding 50+ miles between Louisville and Bardstown. I'll have to try again next year! Instead I did my normal route down Griffith Ave. to catch the Greenbelt and headed to Joe Ford Nature Park and back. A short ride, but that's okay, because the thighs felt a little heavy for some reason.
